Exhibited works:

  • We get stories from : Written text and poem

  • A meditation on love in six acts : Audio piece and 8 minute poem recitation

    • A meditation on love in six acts references numerous acts of racial terrorism that have taken place throughout the history of the United States, ranging from lynching to the lucrative auctioning of a gun that was used to murder an unarmed Black teenager. Each act is a re-enactment of these moments in history by a Black queer couple and their children. Each act is another spree.

This piece aims to illustrate the United States’ and settler colonies, and colonizer countries’ meaning-making system derives from difference and the normalcy of violation of Black people. These countries would not have their identities, borders, philosophies, medical practices, and economies without violation, violence, anti-Blackness, and the production of white supremacy and all its byproducts including sexism, transphobia, homophobia, ableism, fatphobia.
