Becoming

is a photo and interview series that asks how does the process of becoming happen for Black queer people? What is on the other side? What enforces the boundaries and can ‘crunch us into the ideas and identities set by others’ (Audre Lorde). By interpolating interviews with 5 creative practitioners with Black and African literature and scholarship, Becoming affirms the knowledge creation processes that have always been invented for legibility in a world that insists on necessitates ‘the other’ . Becoming seeks to love.
